An Arizona woman was arrested recently after she attempted to drown her 3-year-old son in a puddle, according to a March 12, 2013 report from AZfamily.com.
The mother, identified as 30-year-old Victoria Soliz, allegedly placed her son’s face in and out of a puddle in front of their Mesa home, when some neighbors overheard the child screaming.
Reports claim that the mother refused to stop even upon several requests from neighbors. Soliz reportedly continued to attempt to drown the boy, moving him to a larger puddle prior to police arriving.
She then attempted to give the child CPR prior to law enforcement getting there.
Soliz and her son were both taken to the hospital and the little boy should expect to make a full recovery.
As for the mother, she allegedly suffers from schizophrenia and told doctors that she had been using methamphetamines to control it. She also reportedly told doctors that “Jesus” told her to “drown” her son.
Soliz was arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse.
